Site Pics

A shallow site along the Leon River near Gatesville, Texas.
They're not all shallow! Check out that shell layer on the right.
Rain, rain and more rain. The sites I dig are on private property (mine) along the Lampasas River. The river has come up several times with the heavy rains we've had this year.
One of the screens sits idle while the river adds another layer on top of the site.
Metates and manos.
A large Kinney style point found on the screen.
The burnt rock midden runs quite aways along the river. It was a huge camp with thousands of years of occupation. The colorful Castroville on the right was one heck of a find found in 2000.
